A die-cut decal has been precisely cut around the shape of the graphics/logos, rather than being supplied as a one-piece decal with a background around the design.
This means that once the decal is applied, only the actual graphics are visible, giving it a more of a “painted-on” look.
How Do Die-Cut Decals Work?
Die-cut decals are cut to the exact outline of the artwork. Any excess vinyl is removed before the decal is packaged.
Many of our die-cut decals also come with application tape (“app tape”). This clear transfer tape holds all the parts of the design in the correct position, making installation much easier, especially for decals with lettering and/or multiple pieces.
Once the decal has been applied, the application tape is simply peeled away, leaving only the actual decal behind.
