We get it, when you order decals, it’s easy to focus mainly on the design. However, one of the most important steps before completing your order, is taking a few moments to read the product specifications.
Our product specifications contain all the information you need to ensure you’re ordering the right item for your frame or component. Skipping these details can lead to ordering the wrong product, unnecessary delays, or graphics that simply don’t fit as expected.
For example, the product specifications may include:
– The viewed product: What’s included in the package.
Not every product includes the same contents. Some listings may include one single decal, left/right or drive side/break side decals, spare decals, installation tools etc. The specs will tell.
– Fits: make, model/models and model year.
Even bike parts that look almost identical can have small differences in particular parts or dimensions. A decal designed for one model may not fit another correctly.
Always check that your exact bike/component is listed in the compatibility section before placing your order.
– Vinyl type: Transparent/clear vinyl or not.
Transparent vinyl allows the background colour to show through. Examples of decals printed onto a transparent vinyl are certain frame kits and RockShox electric red shocks/forks.
Understanding which vinyl a product is made from helps ensure it matches your expectations once installed.
– Production method: Individual letters or whole piece.
Is it a die-cut decal or a decal with a coloured background? Not all decals are produced in the same way.
A die-cut decal is precisely cut around the design itself, leaving no background material once applied. Examples of die-cut decals are ENVE rim decals, Santa Cruz frame decals and BMC frame decals. Many of our die-cut decals are produced with an application tape that is to be removed after install. This too is listed in the specs.
Other products may be supplied as printed stickers with a surrounding border or background.
Reading the specification will tell you exactly what you’re purchasing, so you know what to expect before installation.
– Sizing: Based on models and measurements.
