From alpine bike tours to downhill race tracks, Nancy’s journey into mountain biking shows how quickly a passion can grow once you find the right trail.

Nancy, 37, has loved bikes since childhood. She started with bike touring, but everything changed during a tour over the Klausen Pass in Switzerland, when she and her boyfriend decided to ride trails instead of descending on the road. Soon after, her first bike park day followed, and she was instantly hooked.

“From that very first bike park day five years ago, downhill riding became the most important hobby in my life.”

Today, Nancy is actively racing the iXS Downhill Cup, driven by constant progression, technical challenges, and the mountain bike community itself.

Riding Style: Progression Without Pressure

Nancy describes her riding style as controlled and thoughtful. She focuses on riding for herself, not for outside validation.

“When I try something new, I do it for myself. The drop I ride is for me, not to prove anything to anyone else.”

While big jumps are still a work in progress, her main focus is mental strength, especially during races. Staying relaxed and trusting her abilities is key.

Confidence, Quality & Racing

Riding a fully customised bike has a direct impact on Nancy’s mindset.

“It gives me confidence and really pushes me.”

Quality is just as important, especially in racing. Bikes are cleaned often and pushed hard, and low-quality decals simply don’t last.
